La Vergne, TN (May 30, 2000) – Lightning Source today announced an agreement to offer its more than 9,000 titles to customers of (NASDAQ:AMZN). Enhancing’s vast product selection, this agreement will give customers access to a whole new selection of books that include many hard-to-find, out-of-print or otherwise unavailable titles. Book enthusiasts will now have ready access to thousands of hard-to-find literary works – just in time for summer reading.

How It Works

Lightning Source electronically stores books and documents, many of which are hard-to-find or out-of-print titles, in a digital library. When an customer places an order for a book that is in Lightning Source’s library, Lightning Source will print that title "on demand" – whether the order is for one, 100 or 1,000 books. Once ordered, the books will be printed and sent to for direct shipment to customers. Lightning Source will be’s exclusive print-on-demand source for titles in Lightning Source’s digital library. As part of the agreement will work with Lightning Source to encourage publishers to provide additional titles to continue expanding the print-on-demand library selection.
